Although I would like to believe that I will continue this blog after my class ends I cannot guarantee the consistent updates that I have been managing during this semester. What can I say? Grade deadlines do help make sure I get things done quickly.
This blog has definitely opened my eyes to different levels of the problems caused by NCLB and some possible solutions. I have also seen the glimmers of determined minds struggling to rise above the testing mayhem and erupting triumphant head above the rest. Determined, hard working students will almost always find a way to make it through.
This blog is a perfect example of finding the wrongs in society and trying to find ways to fix those problem areas. I would definitely consider assigning a project similar to the one I was given in my Teaching Writing To Adolescents class. I love that schools and teachers are trying to keep up with technology and stay in tune with students.
I will certainly try to never be the kind of teacher that stays with the old methods and never looks forward to the future and sees the potential in new technologies of the present.
And so I bid a tearful goodbye (or at least a “see you later”) to my blog on the NCLB Act. I hope that I have opened a few eyes and perhaps made sympathetic, active listeners rather than just more people ready to complain about the legislation.
Adieu my beautiful blog and fellow blogmates perhaps we will meet again someday in this massive void that is cyberspace.
